I went down to the original witching hour - midnight Thursday, the 8th. I was filled with optimism that so many people were willing to put so much on the line to bring attention to the fact that we have lost our way. We are no longer created equal! And the fact that corporations are among the "more equal" is poison to the soul of the American dream.

I think a financial transaction tax is a great idea. Part of the problem we have is our best and brightest mind are pushing paper around - NOT making things! My nephew, a Princeton PhD said he caould "make some serious bank" by going into iBanking instead of actually adding value to the economy. Luckily, he is not cut out for it. Also of these banking instruments just loop money around and siphon off littles bits of it into million dollar bonuses. What not siphon off a little bit of it to invest in our future.
We do have a common future. The top 1% now live in gated communities, send their kids to private schools, have concierge doctors. They have no interest in keeping the country as a whole healthy and productive. That is the model of a third world dictatorship. Whatever happened to we the people?
